Seok Ho Hong
Dr. Seok Ho Hong is associate professor in Department of Neurosurgery, Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea.
He graduated Seoul National University (SNU) School of Medicine in 1995, and finished neurosurgical residency in Seoul National University Hospital in 2000. After mandatory military service in Korea as an army captain, he spent 3 years as a research fellow in Brain Disease Center, Ajou University, Suwon, Korea, and Pharmacology and Therapeutics, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada under Drs. Seung U. Kim and James. McLarnon.
Following clinical fellowship in SNU Hostpial in 2004, he moved to Asan Medical Center, Seoul, Korea, and appointed as assistant professor in 2005.
His main clinical interest is functional neurosurgery, including epilepsy surgery, microvascular decompression, and resection of brain tumor in the eloquent area. He is one of the key founding member of Korean Study Group on Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring, which was founded in 2012.
